I AM WITH YOU!

My morning devotional today reads, “I AM WITH YOU. I am with you. I am with you. Heaven’s bells continually peel with that promise of My Presence.” (Jesus Calling, Sarah Young) I had to get up and grab my laptop after reading these words, as thoughts poured into my mind and heart. God, the creator of the universe, the Almighty, the Alpha and Omega…he is WITH ME! He’s not sitting in some large office building, busy, and I can make an appointment to talk to him when his time permits. He is with me! Always…continually…forever present.

Recently I took one of those personality tests for work to score my top 5 strengths. Mine are—Communication, Responsibility, Belief, Connectedness, and Woo. Communication wasn’t a surprise. I have always been strong in my communication skills and I have always wanted to be a writer. Responsibility and Belief, sum up how I have always lived my life. Working hard and sticking with my core principles. Connectedness and Woo are new concepts to me, but after reading the explanations of these traits, they were spot on! Connectedness is my belief that all things work together for a purpose and Woo is my desire to draw people to know the Lord. To win people over!

So, what does this all mean? I believe that God is always with us. I believe that he put us here to achieve a greater purpose than we may even know and that everything is connected to bring God glory. Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Jeremiah 29:11-13, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Above all else, I want to seek HIM. I find such peace in knowing that if I seek him with all of my heart, I will find him. He won’t turn me away. Psalm 34:4, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Do you have fears? I know that I do! And with the upcoming election, my anxiety has been high! But he gives me peace beyond all understanding, and I know that no matter what the future holds, he is on the throne.

So today, do you find yourself standing on top of a mountain, ready to tackle the world that lies before you? Or are you in a deep dark valley of doubt and despair, desperately trying to claw your way out? Take heart! He is with you! Romans 8:31, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Claim that victory today and you too can have a peace that passes all understanding, in Jesus Christ the Lord!
