Peace, Peace, Jesus

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Jeremiah 17:7

What do you put your trust in? Your bank account, your 401k, your job, your family, your government? There is so much unrest right now in the world. So much uncertainty. Do you feel it? The weight of anxiety that steals your breath. The fear? When the weight of the world, bares down on you and the troubles in your life, keep you awake at night the Lord tells us to TRUST. Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Turn on the news to any network and you will get an avalanche of bad news! The world is going to hell in a handbasket, as the old saying goes! We are divided against each other. Don’t be mistaken my friends, we are in a battle! We are in a battle for the very soul of this nation. But God is still on the throne of heaven and no plan can prosper without his consent.

I have written in the past couple weeks about the insurmountable burden that is on my heart and how I continue to feel the Lord telling me to believe. Do not give up hope! One of my favorite verses is from Isaiah 59:1, “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.” The Lord can save! He does hear us! But our sin has driven us from him, Isaiah 59:2 continues, “But your iniquities have separated you from your God”.

What is the answer then? Our sin is so great and the path to destruction is stretching out before us! Who can save us? The Lord can! Isaiah 55:6-7, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.I urge you to seek him! Seek and you will find! Seek and the door will be opened! Seek, repent and find reconciliation with the God of the universe. He is waiting for you. His heart and his arms are open, ready to give you forgiveness and peace.

This world may be spinning out of control. We don’t know what tomorrow holds. But I will say it again…I know who holds me and who holds my future. I need not be afraid. My peace is found in Christ Jesus, my Lord. I will give him my burdens. I will lift up to him my requests and I will continue to pray for those who are lost. His arm is not too short to save!
