Do you gauge your value, based on the number on your bathroom scale? I will admit, I have caught myself doing this more than once. As women, we have such demands put on us by society, and most of them are not attainable. They certainly are not truthful! Filters and photoshop make those women in magazines and online look flawless. So then, why are we so amazed when we see the truth, and the veneer of perfection is removed? We see they have wrinkles and blemishes, just like we do! The image they are portraying is not only a lie, it’s destructive. And that my friends, is the primary goal of our enemy Satan.

Satan is the father of lies. The author of Hebrews calls him our accuser and our adversary. Peter described him as a roaring lion, searching for someone to devour. He is not a cartoon character, with a pitchfork and a tail. He is real and his only purpose is to hunt down and destroy anything our father God creates and loves.

He’s that little voice whispering in your ear, “You’ll never be enough”. “You are fat!” “You are pathetic.” “Why don’t you just kill yourself! You never do anything right!” Shocking, I know! But have you heard those whispers before? I have! And he will try to worm his way into your mind, and mess with any peace that you may have; any security you may feel.

You are so valuable to God! In Matthew 18:12-14, Jesus tells us, “What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.”

The point, dear friends, is that no matter what, God loves you! He loves you with all your faults! He doesn’t measure his love based on your jeans size or the number on the scale! Your value is so much more than anything our minds can comprehend! When you accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you become a child of God! And nothing and no one can rip you from his hands! Romans 8:38-39,  ^“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Would you like to know this peace? If you would like to become a child of God and know that nothing will be able to ever separate you from his love, pray this prayer. We all have sinned, and that sin separates us from God. Acknowledge your sin and ask for his forgiveness and he will give you an overwhelming peace, that passes all understanding.

Dear God,
I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness.
I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that he died for my sin and that you raised him to life.
I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward.
Guide my life and help me to do your will.
I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen
